Mr. Petrossian has composed a unique instrumental jazz fusion composition, dedicated to Datevik, masterfully incorporating medieval Armenian chants, or Sharagans (Hymns). Datevik’s beautiful voice blends in as another instrument; the clarity and originality of her voice can be compared to the clear air of rocky Armenia.

The “REVELATIONS”- Concerto for Voice and Big Band” will certainly capture the hearts of jazz lovers, all around the world.

As one of her fans explains, "To see Datevik perform is to marvel at the human voice. She sings it like a cello, with the kind of phrasing and subtleties of tone I thought reserved for wooden instruments hundreds of years old. Her passion is clear and her discipline to the art un-compromised.  In everything, Datevik shows an uncommon honesty and rigor. But her personal warmth and fundamental humility in the face of her art are far from hidden from her audience." (A. T. of Armfreenet)

Some of Datevik's major accomplishments of her career and most important contribution to Armenian music have come through in the last 16 years. By blending together Armenian folk and jazz, Datevik has introduced a new genre of music called Ethnic Jazz.  She has accomplished this notably through the fusion of Komitas, Sayat Nova, and Armenian traditional folk songs, in the medium of jazz, thus giving the new generation of Armenians as well as people of all nationalities and various backgrounds the opportunity to appreciate anew the lush and melodious sounds of an ancient music. Datevik is truly a cultural Ambassador of Armenia. She has extensively traveled throughout the world and participated in prestigious jazz festivals.
