Art Nouveau, an artistic movement that spread all across Europe to America, melting millions of people’s hearts through its highly aesthetic and delicate lines and by its principal of celebrating and valuing nature, is the reason why Actor Al Pacino, Maestro Riccardo Muti, Dr. Irving Lipton and many others admire world-renown, designer and master wood sculptor Mels Yeghiazaryan’s art works. Mels is one of the few artists who truly master the art of carving without any CAD drawings, computers or mechanized tools.  Mels’ unique art pieces have been exhibited from Italy to Russia, from Armenia to Georgia and America. His favorite style is art nouveau, which allows him to bring out the most elegant and sensual elements of the wood. Mels’ creating process is fascinating; like a jazz musician he is always improvising trying to blend the old with the new. There is harmony and grace flowing from Mels’ every art piece enriching and embellishing the atmosphere.  His works have ranged from a theater’s interior, to mirrors large enough to fill a wall to book holders, and as a result of this wide collection, has earned a diverse audience.

One of the best actors in the history of cinema, Mr. Al Pacino owns an exquisite, hand-crafted book chest from Mels. Maestro Riccardo Muti, who is the main conductor of La Scala Opera house in Milan, was invited by the President of Armenia to perform in commemoration of Armenia’s 1700’th anniversary of accepting Christianity and for this event, Mels was asked by the President to contribute an art work. The result was a magnificent and prodigious musical composition 2 meters long, which was Mels’ and his daughters’ favorite piece titled “Everlasting Music.” Dr. Irving Lipton, whose 25-year-old wood art collection is considered as internationally renowned, owns 8 pieces of Mels’ art works.

Mels Yeghiazaryan’s visa was stamped “Specially Talented Person” when he immigrated to the States in 2002. He graduated from the Academy of Art in Yerevan, Armenia and from Yerevan Building Technical college. Today  Mels, the former head designer of famous Enkeboll Designs  is creating a new concept for elaborate mirrors and family heraldry exclusively for private commission. These functional masterpieces will be unique and personal and will become one of the most beautiful and proud elements of your home.
