On Monday, November 6th at 19:00,
Naregatsi Art Institute hosted the first concert of "America-Armenia, Music Now" festival.
The festival was organized by Laura Kaminski (USA), Margarit Sargsian & the winner of "contemporary classical music" in "Naregatsi young composer's Award 2006", Arthur Avanesov.
The opening speech was given by the director of NAI Mr. Levon Ivanian followed by the organizors of the festival.
Throughout the festival, young musicians will be performing the works of Armenian and American composers. Some of these will be premiered in Armenia.
The program included J. Cramp, J. Harbison, L. Kaminski, M. Kokjayev, V. Manoukian, A. Avanesov, H. Manoukian, and V Haroutyounian.
The performers were: Nelly Manoukian(flute), Martin Ulikhanian(clarinet), Vilen Gabrielian, Lilit Tonoyan, Tereza Najarian(violin), Yana Darian(alto), Aram Talalian, Hayk Babayan(cello), Arthur Avanesov, Margarit Sargsian, Vardan Haroutyounian(piano)," Linos" String Quartet.
The artistic directors of the festival were Laura Kaminski, Arthur Avanesov & Margarit Sargsian.
