ICAF Finals in Washington
International Child Art Foundation ICAF
was the 3rd Art Festival Olympiad organized in Washington from June 22 to 26, 2007. During this event the foundation had also organized “My Favorite Sport” International Children’s Art festival.
The festival’s local competitions took place in almost 100 countries, also in Armenia with the joint effort of the ministry of culture and youth matters and “Naregatsi Art Institute”. Armenian children 8-12 years old from art schools took part in the competition. The winner was Angela Grigoryan from Vanadzor, whose work was presented in Washington as a finalist.
As international colleagues of the ICAF, different organizations from all over the world, cultural centers, educational institutions, sport ministries, national galleries, academies, centers and international art schools participated at this event.
The representative of Armenia was invited to Washington, to take part in ICAF’s finals of the Art Festival Olympiad.
The winners of 50 countries and 30 USA states participated in different events from June 22-26.
200 children participated in 25 performances a day where they presented songs, dances and took part in painting programs.
Mexico, Oman, Israel, Peru, Brazil, and other countries presented important projects. Angela, the representative from Armenia was a part of these projects.
Angela Gregorian along with other participants coming from 50 countries presented their work entitled “Peaceful Future”.
The 2nd Art Festival Olympiad’s winners were invited, too. With their participation, a joint program between two winner groups was realized. The 2nd Art Festival `s winners presented 1 painting.
Led by the representative of Rumania, Claudia, Angela Gregorian along with 2 other children, painted the famous Lincoln monument, which was dedicated to yahoo.com, one of the sponsors of the Olympiad. During the closing of the festival Angela was given a certificate and gifts from Lego.
The Olympiad also included conferences and visits to George Kennedy Art center and International Art Gallery.
There were meetings held between the Embassy of the Armenian Republic and with the representatives of the Armenian community.
Several universities of USA, art schools, famous organizations as Addidas, Lego and so on showed their support for the Olympiad.
