Naregatsi Art Institute Wednesday Night Film Series

This Wednesday, November 22nd the Naregatsi Art Institute will present an introduction to its new Wednesday Night Film Series. Each of the curators from the series will introduce their programs with a short film and a few words about future programs.

ART OF VISION - Zareh Tjeknavorian presents unknown or underappreciated films that push the boundaries of cinematic form and storytelling. This Wednesday Zareh will show 2 short films from Unseen Cinema “Early American Avante-garde”.

NEW DIRECTIONS - Showcases the work of innovative young filmmakers exploring new trends and approaches to their craft. This Wednesday Tiran Karapetyan will show his short documentary film “Jugha”.

ESSENTIAL CINEMA - Melik Karapetyan curates a selection from his celebrated on-going film series at the National Gallery. This Wednesday Melik will show 2 short films this outstanding series.

BEHIND THE SCREEN - a program honoring established filmmakers – directors, editors, actors, art directors, composers, etc. - who will show a selection of their work and discuss their films, methods and philosophies. This Wednesday we will present featured guest animator and filmmaker Narine Muradyan.

The aim of Naregatsi Wednesday Night Film Series is to create a vital and dynamic center for Armenia’s burgeoning film scene at Naregatsi Art Institute.

Through these weekly programs the series hopes to bring together Yerevan’s large community of film lovers and filmmakers to exchange opinions and discuss ideas in a lively and open environment.
