Holy Week

April 1-8

Naregatsi Art Institute celebrated the Holy Week with a rich list of events, with the participation of various artists and Pastors of the Armenian Orthodox Church, who presented the meaning & significance of each day.

On Palm Sunday, NAI hosted “Luys” vocal quintet, who performed spiritual & folk compositions.

On Holy Monday, “Saghmos” Choir of Djervej village had a concert, and father Kyouregh Talyan, the Pastor of St. Catholic Church explained the meaning of the day.

On Holy Tuesday, the Mayilyan Trio performed compositions from Komitas & Grigor Naregatsi. The meaning of the day was presented by father Ghevont Mayilyan.

Wednesday night, Naregatsi film center showed “The Island” by Pavel Lungin. Father Kyuregh Talyan spoke of its artistic & spiritual values.

On Maundy Thursday, Lusine Grigoryan performed in a piano concert, where she played compositions from Komitas & Gurdjieff.

On Good Friday, Naregatsi Chamber Music Society played compositions from Bach & Hayden.

On Holy Saturday, “Mihr” plastic dance theatre performed “The Destruction of Hell”.

Father Dadjad Davtyan spoke of the meanings of the last three days.
