Concert: NOVA Ensemble

On the evening of June 13th Komitas Chamber Music Hall was packed. Naregatsi Art Institute Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble under the artistic supervision of the RA Honored Worker of Culture Hovik Sahakyan presented a concert dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation.
The concert kicked off with Armenian folk circle dance, followed by soloists Nare Avagyan, Arman Arakelyan, Yana Tevanyan, Lusine Aghajanyan.
During the concert, the Knar Spiritual and Folk Song Group (Artistic Director Lusine Aghajanyan) and the duduk class students of the Yeghvard Art School (Head Gevorg Kazazyan), tar player Alexander Sahakyan and singer Aram Movsisyan joined the Nova Ensemble.
The Naregatsi Art Institute founder Nareg Hartounian made a welcoming speech.
-Our soldiers protect our borders, and our artists, our musicians, defend our culture, our songs, our heritage, our national dignity. In that sense each of them is a hero, an ambassador for the preservation of our culture.
Naregatsi Art Institute first of all would like to thank the Lord because we serve God.
Special thanks to parents for bringing up such children.
Thanks to all those who have believed and believe. We are grateful to the soloists who willingly participated in the concert, thanks to all of you that are here today.
The strongest army is lost without its leader, the best ensemble without its artistic director. Thank you Mr. Sahakyan for the immense work you have done and for being with the Institute for 14 years, - concluded the founder of the Institute.
Rouben Altunyan, Stepan Shakaryan, Daniel Yerazhisht, Tsovinar Hovhannisyan and many other artists were among the audience.
- Naregatsi Art Institute continues its patriotic activities aimed at the preservation and development of Armenian cultural heritage by organizing diverse events and projects. I have never known any other person who is as devoted to Armenian culture and its development and dissemination as Nareg Hartounian. We are grateful to him for providing such opportunities to the young people, - mentioned Hovik Sahakyan in his speech.
The event featured works by Armenian composers, Armenian folk songs and dance melodies.
The Naregatsi Art Institute expresses its deep gratitude to the RA Minister of Culture Lilit Makunts for the response to the Institute's request and for the possibility to have a free concert at Komitas Chamber Music Hall.
