Gagik Ginosyan: Hello, guys

Gagik Ginosyan was born in 1966 in Akhaltskha. He is the founder and the creative director of the “Karin” Traditional Song and Dance Ensemble since 2001, the Honored Culture Worker of the RA. The majority of “Karin” songs and dances have been saved from extinction and restored in their ethnographical form due to the folkloristic work carried out by the group. He studied at the Polytechnic Institute and got a qualification of engineer - cybernetics and has worked at the Yerevan Institute of Physics, as a senior researcher. In 1992 participated in the Karabakh war, in the "Artsiv" Battalion of the «X» secret squad. He participated in battles for the liberation of Martakert, Askeran, Martuni and Lachin. In 1994 -1996 he served in the Armenian Army in the Battalion of Special Forces. In 1995 - 1996 he studied and graduated from Moscow Field Military Academy named after of Marshal Shaposhnikov. The RA President R. Kocharian awarded him with the "Artsiv" (1998) and "Courage" (2000) medals, other rewards. In 1996-1999 he worked in Gyumri "Shant" TV and Radio Company as Yerevan Office Director.

He danced in the "Van" and "Akunk" folk bands. He became the winner of four international folk festivals in Italy (1996), in Romania and Croatia (1999).

Gagik Ginosyan’s book “Hello, guys” was published in 2006. It includes the author’s prose work, social and political articles and interviews. Under the headline “Gloomy thoughts” the author has presented his popular aphorisms as well.
