Naregatsi launches painting classes for children aged 7-17

Classical music, white paper, pencils and paints ... and all these for children… to create the environment for them to draw. Naregatsi Art Institute hosted the first open drawing lesson for children, held by journalist, painter Mariam Mughdusyan.
"What is important for us is to awake and develop the artist that lives in every child", - says Mariam Mughdusyan.
Twice per week, children and young people aged 7-17 years old, who wish to learn and love drawing, are most welcome at NAI, where they are provided adequate conditions and environment for painting.

The foundation of a painting class was set in summer last year, when artists held series of Master classes for children, which was organized by Sevan Naccashian, painter and the head of painting department at NAI.
The children, who take part in the course, will have the opportunity to regularly meet, communicate with renowned artists who will be working with them. As the founders say, the purpose of this initiative is not only the creation of opportunities for the kids to draw, but also the development of their aesthetic education.

Mariam Mughdusyan has an experience working with children, as she has worked in various painting clubs and communicated with a variety of artists. As Mariam claims, she is attracted to the child in the artist and to the artist in the child.
"The child should actually be free in his scope of ideas and imagination; we should simply be guiding them, if the need comes. Every child is provided an individual approach here ", - says Mariam.
Arman Hanoyan, one of the kids, who attended the classes last year, has had a solo exhibition and up to now gladly keeps attending the painting class.

Even though the there is the stereotype that the variety of games, television and internet are quite appealing to children, this course came to prove that children's favorite theme is still that of the sun and the blue sky, trees and the nature.
